COMMITTEE
Sponsored by:

American Legion Veterans of Foreign Wars
April 2023
Dear Interested Parade participant:
On behalf of the Baldwinsville Memorial Day Committee, I would like to thank you for
participating in our annual Memorial Day Parade in the past. We are sending this invitation to
you, as we believe that you will be interested in participating again. Our parade will be held this
year at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
Each year, this parade is held to honor our war veterans, both past and present, and therefore we
would appreciate all parade themes to be consistent with this honor. In addition, solicitation of
any kind e.g. political or commercial, and the handing out of candy will not be allowed.
Instead, American flags or flowers for distribution along the parade route are encouraged and
acceptable.
The schedule of activities for the evening is as follows:
▪ Participants can begin lining up on Lock Street at 5:00 p.m., and must be in line by 5:30 p.m.
Please enter Lock Street from Salina Street via Wood Street only.
▪ Parade staff (in golf carts) will be located along Lock Street to direct you to your place in the
line of march. The parade will start off at approximately 5:40 p.m.
▪ A brief service will be held at the Veterans Monument in front of the U. S. Post Office on East
Genesee Street at 5:45 p.m. Then the parade will continue to the 4 Corners and travel south
onto Oswego Street.
▪ The parade briefly stops on the bridge for a ceremony honoring servicemen lost at sea; it then
continues down Oswego Street to take a right onto Tappan Street.
▪ The traditional memorial services continue at Riverview Cemetery immediately following the
parade. All participants are welcome as it is a lovely way to end the celebration.
If you require to be picked up at the end of the parade, we recommend Ford Street.
If you wish to participate, please complete the enclosed form (also available on the web sites of
