On behalf of the members of the Baldwinsville Village Police Department, I welcome you to our department’s web site. Our officers are on duty and available to respond to calls for service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and our administrative offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to Midnight. The department’s motto is “Service with Understanding” and has been the hallmark of our attitude towards service to the community since the reorganization of the police department in 1972. The police department provides a number of services to the community, such as, D.A.R.E., a bicycle patrol, vacation house security checks, a citizen ride along program and many others.
The department has an aggressive traffic enforcement policy. We have found that the reduction in speeding and aggressive driving violations, leads to a reduction in the number of traffic collisions and personal injuries. The police department participates in state traffic initiatives, such as, “Buckle Up New York” and “Buckle Up America.” We can simply save lives and prevent injuries by ensuring that occupant restraints and child restraints are used and used properly. The department currently has two certified child safety seat technicians. These officers will actually take your child safety seat and properly install it in your vehicle, then, they will instruct you in the proper installation techniques. We are very proud of our traffic and pedestrian community safety programs. We were recognized by AAA for four years with their gold traffic safety award and most recently by their highest award, the platinum award.
We are continuing our efforts to take advantage of technological advancements that will help us to be more effective and efficient. We are sharing information more completely with all law enforcement agencies in Onondaga County through a county-wide records management system that will help our citizens with better service. We have taken advantage of many grant opportunities to help us with these technology and equipment needs to help relieve costs to our citizens.
